Who is invited to attend this Seminar?The PGLAM Workshop focuses on the easy-to-understand basics and fundamentals of digital photography using flash in a controlled studio environment. PGLAM provides everything you'll need including the studio gear, flash gear, and camera (if necessary). Whatever your skill level (beginner, amateur, advanced, professional), you will find our Workshop to be a valuable experience. Beginners are, especially, welcome. The PGLAM Workshop also emphasizes the advantages of working with a professional glamour model. After the initial review of the above studio photography basics, the majority of workshop time will be spent sharpening your photographic skills with continuous photography of our guest model during the remainder of the 2-hour classroom session. We are proud that we can, honestly, report that everyone who has participated with PGLAM since we began has left 100% satisfied and had a great time! We're confident that your PGLAM experience will be similar. The topic that has become the favorite during the workshop is "establishing a good rapport with your model." This topic quickly "breaks the ice" when it comes to working with a live Glamour model. Learning techniques such as to how to pose a live model are also covered. You do not have to own (or even know how to use) a quality digital camera in order to attend this seminar. In fact, many attendees who have never held an SLR digital camera in their hands before have left the PGLAM Workshop with hundreds of fabulous photos in their new portfolios! If you've ever wondered what it's like to be behind the camera during a centerfold-style photo shoot, this is your chance! |

What subjects will be addressed at the Workshop?We really want to emphasize how truly simple and easy this workshop is for beginner and amateur photographers. Especially if you choose or need to use one of our easy-to-use cameras that we provide at no extra charge. The majority of Workshop time is devoted to continuously photographing our Guest Model. In fact, at least 80% of the time we're doing just that. You'll get to practice techniques discussed at the beginning of the Workshop in addition to what you may already know. So don't be intimidated if you read about subjects that you don't understand right now. Whenever there will be instruction at the workshop, the concepts will be presented in such a way that they will be really easy to understand. When there will be instruction, highlights will include:

How long is each workshop?The PGLAM Workshop is just over two hours long. Aside from two or three short 5-minute breaks for scene changes, modeling and photography will be continuous with occasional instructional pauses. It is suggested that you not arrive hungry as you probably would not want to break (even for a snack). You are, of course, welcome to take restroom breaks as necessary (and our facilities always have quality clean restrooms available on premise). After the workshop, there will be anywhere from another 25 to 45 minutes to meet and greet our featured model in addition to printing the very photos you took for an autograph. Printers will be provided for a modest $10 per print. Or, you can bring your own printer and paper at no charge. |
||
What is the student / Model ratio?There will never be more then twelve students per Workshop. After brief instruction at the beginning of the Workshop, all attendees get to shoot in groups of 3 on a rotating basis very efficiently while also receiving occasional instruction and demonstration pauses. The center photographer of each group of 3 gets to pose our model. You will, therefore, have several opportunities throughout the Workshop to pose our model. Don’t let this point intimidate you if you do not have experience posing a professional model in a photo-shoot environment. One of the most important lessons to be learned from this Workshop is the dynamic between photographer and model. This intimate classroom experience provides for a majority of actual shoot-time (yielding the ability to capture a modestly high volume of images) in addition to your ability to pose our guest Model. Many PGLAM attendees have gone home with over 500 images. |

For which Workshop should I register?Whenever the PGLAM Workshop is offered, there will usually be two workshops offered on that day. Since the agenda of each of the two PGLAM Workshops on that day is identical, simply register based on the time-of-day that you prefer. Please note: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If the Workshop you desire is sold-out, be sure to check to see if there may still be availability for the remaining Workshop that day. If a date is sold-out, we suggest that you contact us and ask to be placed on a wait list in the event that we decide to hold-over our model for the next day to add a workshop or two. |

What does the tuition include?There are no hidden fees. Your paid tuition includes: Attendance at the PGLAM Workshop with our special guest Model. Instruction and use of provided equipment. Licensing rights for captured images. Please note: Although you are the owner of your photos, your photos are licensed to you from our company and may only be used for non-commercial personal promotional use only such as your personal portfolio or personal website (see “About Licensing Rights” below). Other notes: Food, transportation, and accommodations are not included in the tuition cost of this Seminar. Discount accommodations through our company are nearly always available simply by calling the affiliated hotel and requesting the “PGLAM Group Rate.” Unfortunately, hotel meeting room rules do not allow food to be brought into the Workshop. Please contact us by clicking on “Contact” on this website. About licensing rights: You will absolutely own your photos. And we certainly want you to know that you'll be proud enough of them to display them in your portfolio. However, your photos will also be owned by our featured guest model (she gets to publish them commercially if she wishes) and by our parent company AIOEI, LLC (who only gets to use them by posting them later on our websites). So, this isn't about us “kidnapping” your photographs. Our model is doing that (just kidding). Seriously, she's only going to use the best possible photos if she decides to use them to promote herself on her own website, etc. And all we want to do is the same on our sites (especially in our photo galleries). So, to satisfy the lawyers, we also have to tell you that your paid tuition is also your agreement to allow us to copy your digital media card after you remove it from your camera before going home from the Workshop. Once copied, your digital media card will be returned to you with all of your ORIGINAL images intact. Further, you will not be permitted to post your photos anywhere on the internet (such as on myspace.com, facebook.com, etc.) other than on your own personal proprietary website (if you have one). You will, however, be able to print your photos as much as you wish (especially to use them for your own personal portfolio book). OK, now the lawyers are happy. Thanks for understanding. |

What if I don’t have a camera?We will provide excellent and easy-to-use Digital SLR quality cameras at no charge. Again, please especially note the words "easy-to-use." We're not kidding. If you need or choose to use one of our cameras, we'll explain how to adjust the settings, and how to control the camera so that you’ll end up with truly professional quality photos almost immediately after you begin using it! We guarantee it! And, we'll frequently check on you throughout the Workshop to make sure that you’re properly using the camera. If you do not own a digital camera compatible with our equipment, we proudly provide free of charge use of one of our Panasonic Lumix FZ50 cameras. This astonishing camera features superior optics by Leica. Click here to learn more about this surprisingly easy-to-use camera. In fact, we have seen past PGLAM attendees go out and purchase these cameras immediately after having attended PGLAM. Our cameras work flawlessly with our studio flash lighting system, too. And, again, we take care of making all of the settings of the flash equipment leaving you with more time to concentrate on composing and taking your photographs of our live guest model. If you choose to use one of our cameras, your images will be stored on SD digital media card that you provide. Be sure to bring an SD media card of at least 4 gigs in size. If you forget to buy and bring one with you to the Workshop, you can purchase one before the Workshop begins for $45 (but it's really cheaper to buy one elsewhere). |

What equipment should I bring?There's only one piece of equipment you'll need: A blank media card (at least 4 gigs in size) for the camera you'll be shooting with. Of course, if you're shooting with your own camera, be sure to bring the media card proprietary to your camera. If you've decided to photograph with one of our cameras, simply bring a blank 4 gig SD digital media card. Media cards for our cameras will also be available for purchase at the Seminar for $45. They’re definitely available for less money on line (and possibly less expensive even at your local camera or computer equipment store). Tripods, external flashes, and camera brackets will not be necessary to bring (and not recommended). However, if you plan to shoot with your own camera, it MUST have the ability to synchronize with an external flash via your camera hot shoe or PC connector. It must also have the ability to manually control lens aperture, camera shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. The ability to shoot in RAW format is not required (and, in fact, shooting in RAW format is not permitted!). In our Workshops, all photos are taken where all cameras must be set at the “highest quality” setting for .jpg format. A note to Sony, Konica, and Minolta Camera users: Sony, Konica, and Minolta cameras incorporate a "hot shoe" that is proprietary for use only with Sony, Konica, or Minolta brand flash equipment and are NOT compatible with our flash equipment in our Workshops. However, there are after-market adapters available that we have seen success with that will allow Sony, Konica, and/or Minolta cameras to be compatible with our gear. We cannot officially endorse the use of such adapters (even though they exist). However, we have definitely permitted PGLAM attendees in the past to use such adapters on their Sony, Konica, or Minolta cameras and they have never failed. If you own a Sony, Konica, or Minolta camera, you may wish to visit the following website: http://www.safe-sync.com/index.htm |

Why must I be at least 18 years old to attend?The term "Glamour" modeling has many interpretations. It connotes photography of nude models as often as with models who are clothed. Since our model will be posing with little left to your imagination during the PGLAM Workshop, attending students must be at least 18 years old and must have their ID with them or entry will be denied. |
